Six years of preserving sight in Port Harcourt
Newlife Eye Clinic Ltd. is a patient-centered eye care facility dedicated to providing high-quality, ethical, and accessible ophthalmic services. Established in 2018 and located in D-Line, Port Harcourt, the clinic has served individuals and families for over six years with a strong focus on preventive eye care, accurate diagnosis, and effective treatment.
Newlife Eye Clinic Ltd. is duly registered as a business with the Corporate Affairs Commission (RC 9599189) and operates under the clinical leadership of a registered Optometrist, Dr. Ngozi Ugorji.
Our purpose is to preserve, protect, and improve vision while enhancing quality of life through professional and compassionate eye care delivery.
Newlife gives Port Harcourt direct access to registered, hands-on Optometrist-led eye care — combining clinic-based examination and treatment with online consultation and community outreach — so that quality eye care is never more than a WhatsApp message away.
Aims
Promote early detection and prevention of eye disease, reduce avoidable visual impairment and blindness in the community, and improve eye health awareness through education and outreach — all delivered to professional and ethical standards.
Objectives
Comprehensive exams, accurate diagnosis and management, precise refraction, early screening for glaucoma and cataract, patient education, timely referral for advanced or surgical cases, and continuous improvement through feedback.
Our Approach — the four principles patients notice
Patient-Centered Care — personalized treatment tailored to each patient's needs. Professional Excellence — services delivered by qualified, registered eye care professionals. Ethical Practice — transparency, integrity, and trust in every interaction. Community Commitment — building eye health awareness in the wider community, including our upcoming Vision For All Crusade.

Understanding your eyes, in plain language
We're building this library out gradually, starting with the topics that matter most — each one reviewed by Dr. Ngozi Ugorji before publishing. Have a question one of these doesn't answer? Ask us directly.
Glaucoma
Often called the "silent thief of sight" — glaucoma can quietly damage your vision with no early symptoms, which is why routine screening matters more than how your eyes feel today.
Ask us about glaucoma screening → Related service: Glaucoma & Cataract ScreeningCataracts
A cataract is a clouding of the eye's natural lens that usually develops gradually, often with age — causing blurred vision, glare, and faded colours that can be identified early through screening.
Ask us about cataract screening → Related service: Glaucoma & Cataract ScreeningChildren's Vision
Children rarely complain about poor eyesight — they simply adapt to it. Regular eye checks catch problems early, before they affect learning, reading, or school performance.
Ask us about children's exams → Related service: Comprehensive Eye ExaminationsPreventive Eye Care
Many of the most serious eye conditions show no symptoms in their early stages. A routine comprehensive exam — not just a quick vision check — remains the most effective way to protect your sight long-term.
Book a comprehensive exam → Related service: Preventive Care & CounselingMore topics — diabetic eye disease, digital eye strain, dry eye, and vision correction — are being added as the library grows.

Answers, in plain language
I can see fine — why do I need an eye exam?
Many sight-threatening conditions, like glaucoma, develop with no early symptoms. Routine screening catches problems long before they affect your vision.
I don't have time to visit during the week.
We're open Saturdays, 10am – 3pm, and offer online consultation for follow-up so you don't always need to visit in person.
I don't know what this will cost.
Message us on WhatsApp before booking and we'll walk you through what to expect, so there's no surprise when you arrive.
Do you accept insurance or HMO plans?
We're currently formalizing HMO and insurance partnerships. Message us on WhatsApp to confirm current acceptance for your plan.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Any current glasses or contact lenses, a list of medications you're taking, and your HMO details if applicable.
